Upcycle any can into a stylish Faux Fur Vase perfect for your Christmas and winter flower arrangements.
Faux fur pillows and blankets are readily available for Christmas decor. Now we can bring that same cozy texture to our tables with a Faux Fur Vase. The craft is both affordable and easy, making it a great option if you need multiple matching vases. And while the project works best if you use a can with a larger circumference like a coffee can, any empty can will work. Let’s get crafting!
Materials
- Coffee can or soup can
- Faux fur (large enough to cover your can)
- Spray adhesive
- Hot glue gun
Instructions
Cut a piece of faux fur slightly larger than the size of your can. Use your spray adhesive to attach the faux fur to your coffee can. Make sure to align the edge of the faux fur piece with the top of the can and then wrap all the way around the can. Once done, fold over the excess fur onto the bottom of the can. Use your hot glue gun to attach the fur to the bottom of the can.
Now it’s ready for flowers! I used faux amaryllis stems and cedar stems with red berries.
I made the Faux Fur Vase for Day 2 of my 12 Days of Christmas Creativity—a creative challenge I do on my Instagram account. Leading up to Christmas, each week I’ll share 2-3 Christmas ideas in order to inspire us to get creative this holiday season. A lot of the ideas will be crafts, but I’ll also share desserts, drinks, styling tips and entertaining ideas. Last year I called it 12 Days of Christmas Crafts and made a DIY Snowy Christmas Candle, DIY Glittery Christmas House, Merry & Bright Pillows and more. I hope you’ll follow along this year.
