Elevate your space for fall or any season by making this luxe DIY Faux Leather Vase. This easy home decor hack turns an empty can into a luxury vase perfect for your autumn florals. The craft takes under 5 minutes, costs under $10, and uses only 5 items. Making the DIY vase perfect for even non-crafters.
Materials
- Empty coffee can or another can (keep in mind that wider cans work better for vases)
- Faux Leather (I used the Cognac Braided Faux Leather Ribbon from Hobby Lobby)
- 3 Push Pins or Thumbtacks (I used decorative Heart Push Pins from Target)
- Hot Glue Gun & Glue
- Wire Cutters
Instructions
1: Cover can with leather.
Cut faux leather to fit your can. Next, wrap the leather around the can. Glue leather shut using the hot glue gun. Note: There’s really no need to glue the leather to the can. If snug enough, the leather will hold in place.
2: Add “faux rivets”.
While this step is optional, the metallic detail of the push pins will give the appearance of leather rivets. Using wire cutters, cut off the pin backs of the push pins or thumbtacks. Using the hot glue gun, glue the decorative piece of the push pins to the leather-wrapped can along the seam. Note: If you can’t find the heart push pins, use flat thumbtacks or another decorative metal accent.
