The name says it all. A Huckleberry Margarita is the combination of a classic margarita with the addition of huckleberry syrup to up the sweetness while taming the tartness of a regular margarita. The cocktail has been our go-to drink this summer. So it’s been thoroughly taste-tested and approved by my family and friends. I figured it was about time I shared it with all of you. I hope you enjoy it as we head into the end of summer.
It’s all about the huckleberry syrup. We discovered we like Monin Huckleberry Syrup (available on Amazon). The syrup has a “freshly picked wild blueberry” flavor. It is perfect for adding a berry twist to lattes, teas, lemonade, soda—and cocktails!
For your lime juice, either use fresh-squeezed lime juice or try Nellie & Joe’s Famous Key West Lime Juice (available at most grocery stores with the cocktail mixes). We found this to be a great substitute for fresh lime juice, but without the cost, time, or elbow grease.
If setting up a signature cocktail bar, I suggest serving the huckleberry syrup as well as the lime juice in vintage glass soda bottles. It’s unexpected, extra cute and they are super affordable. We found ours while antique shopping and the prices ranged from about $1 to $4. The bottles come in a variety of sizes and patterns—and most are in really good condition—so have fun with it and mix it up!
