November is here and it’s my favorite season as it calls us to reflect on all that we are grateful for. I’m taking this time to share my Thanksgiving table from last year. I shared pictures on Instagram, but never did a blog post so when I was asked to join in on the My Grateful Table Blog Hop, I thought this was a perfect chance to not only share my pictures, but also provide the FREE print-it-yourslef download for the Thankful Banner printable. So win, win!
Flowers: I used a lot of past DIY projects, like the DIY Metallic Mason Jar Wraps. The vase is actually a mason jar that I created a cover for with metallic fabric. The flowers are cabbage (yes, cabbage), a red fuzzy flower I don’t know the name of (yes I should try googling it, but I’m lazy today) and greenery from my yard.
Free Printable in Flowers: I created a free print-it-yourself Thankful Banner. I love adding printables to my centerpieces, it’s kind of my signature look. I just think it adds an extra, personalized touch and really helps create the theme of your table. The Thankful banner graphics coordinate with the graphics I created for the kids table too.
Other Flower Embelishments: Some of the flower arrangements were embellished with paper drinking straws that I added gold flags to using gold washi tape. Super simple, but adds a little flair.
Lighting: I used a patterned Kraft paper runner and then kept to using a variety of metallic candles, including a lot of mercury glass. The polka-dot candles were another past DIY project: DIY Tissue Paper Candles. I also used a lot of white, like the white pumpkins and white cabbage. The only pops of color come with the yellow plates, the red flowers and the teal thankful banner.
Personal Touches: When setting a table, don’t be afraid to also add your own personal touches. For example, I love the framed bible verse I added because even though it didn’t go perfectly with our color scheme, it went perfectly with the day.
And let’s not forget about the kid table. Although the table was very different (a lot more fun), everything coordinated perfectly with the adult table. I used the same paper runner on both tables. Also, the Thankful Banner on the adult table used the same teal pattern as the ship and turkey feathers. I also used a lot of white on the kid table like the white pumpkins and feathers.
The kids table was made complete with a Thankful Turkey Kids Craft. Get the free download and see more pictures and tips on my Thanksgiving Kids Table post.
