This simple Spring Flower Bulb Arrangement is as easy as 1, 2, 3. You simply buy the bulbs from Trader Joe’s or your local nursery and add them to a vase with vase filler. I used hyacinth bulbs, but amaryllis and narcissus respond well to this method of forcing too.
During the spring, Trader Joe’s usually carries hyacinth bulbs and tulip bulbs. These bulbs make it easy to transplant because steps have already been taken to make them start to grow. If you buy bulbs at your local nursery, be sure to research how to prepare the bulbs so that they work for growing inside with the forced bulb method.
For my arrangement, I picked three white hyacinth bulbs that came in clear, glass bulb vases. I thought they looked pretty in their original vases, but I wanted to make one statement piece. For Easter, I’ve been using a lot of soft pinks so I continued that theme and used pink and clear glass vase filler. Small white pebbles or other rocks would also work well.
Materials
- Large clear vase (mine is the BEGÄRLIG Vase from Ikea)
- 3 hyacinth bulbs (number will depend on size of vase)
- Vase filler (I used pink and clear glass filler available at Target, Michaels or your local craft store)
- Water
Instructions
Step 1: Line bottom of vase with your vase filler.
Step 2: Gently place your bulbs into the vase. Make sure to be gentle so that most of the roots stay in place. Add in more of your vase filler to help your bulbs stand up.
Step 3: Add water and enjoy!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this easy and simple spring bulb arrangement. Now here’s hoping it continues to grow. I think this would make a lovely centerpiece for Easter. If you do so, be sure to share your projects with me on Instagram and tag @tonalitydesigns.
