In my last post, I shared how I created the DIY Fourth of July Planter Box that inspired the creation of this Fourth of July tablescape. I created the centerpiece using a wood box and fabric. You can get the full tutorial on our DIY Fourth of July Planter Box post. In this post, I’ll show how with a few changes, you can create two different tablescapes using the same centerpiece.
For the first table: I set the table using a blue and white tablecloth, red and white napkins, white plates, clear glasses, festive paper straws and of course my DIY Fourth of July Planter Box.
I also added fun popcorn boxes to each place setting. I was inspired by Oriental Trading and all their fun Fourth of July decor and party supplies.
To recreate the popcorn boxes, I simple put popcorn in red and white striped popcorn boxes from Oriental Trading and then added in the red, white and blue Rock Candy and USA flag lollipops also from Oriental Trading. I thought the Rock Candy created the perfect “firework” feel to our snack.
As you can see, my niece was very egger to get her hands on one of the boxes. She was totally in love with the “firework” rock candies.
For the second table: I switched out the graphic blue & white tablecloth for a classic darker blue and white striped tablecloth. I also swiped out the popcorn boxes and used red and white star plates. We also added USA flags to the planter box.
In addition to the above changes, we used white napkins and changed out the glasses. Here we used beer can glasses that I also found at Oriental Trading. As you can see, these were all easy changes that make for a different table. Proof that you can utilize what you have and probably make a pretty cute table.
A special thank you to Oriental Trading for sending me items to use in this post. Everything I picked to use exceeded my expectations and created a setting for a fun Fourth of July celebration.

These tables for the 4th are so great. Thanks for telling us where to get the candy. I love the bright, patriotic colors and fun feel – the rock candy does create an energy, like sparklers. The flag lollipop – perfect. and popcorn boxes for color and design filled with popcorn, rock candy, and a lollipop – genius. I like both ideas for tables. Beer can glasses from Oriental Trading, too? Who knew. And your niece – so cute. So fun to have her involved. All this makes me want to entertain for the 4th! With that kind of table WOW factor, it would be fun. I might work a patriotic cake pop in the mix, instead of a lollipop. You’ve sparked my 4th imagination!
