Are you looking for an affordable and chic way to welcome spring into your home? How about creating some large-scale wall art with these free botanical prints, available to download at 24″ x 36″? I say, yes,
I’ve been needing artwork for over my couch and I wanted to keep it simple. I saw some black and white fern prints that I thought would be perfect from McGee & Co.; however, each framed print was $1,100. What? I decided I wanted to create the look for less, and I did just that. My two framed prints cost a total of $50. That’s a $2,150 savings!
I’ll admit, I couldn’t find simple frames as big as I wanted (I originally wanted 36″ x 48″ frames), but I did find 24″ x 36″ frames from Ikea for only $19.99 each. I then designed and printed the black and white prints for about $5 each at FedEx Office. So for a total of only $50 I had the same look as the fancy fern prints I wanted. And the leaf and floral designs are more me anyways—which makes this DIY a win, win!
If you like these prints too, below I have the free download and instructions for printing. The process is so simple and, since they are so affordable, you won’t feel guilty when you want to change out your artwork.
Please keep in mind that I designed the leaf and floral prints in good faith that you’ll use them for personal use only. If wanting to use them for commercial use (any items you end up selling) please contact me.
Instructions
Download the FREE Botanical Prints PDF. The PDF is two pages, including the leaf print and the floral print. The pages are set up to print 24″ x 36″.
Print your PDF file. Take your PDF file to FedEx Office or
Frame your prints. Use your favorite 24″ x 36″ frame. I liked the simple RIBBA black frames from Ikea. The streamlined look really compliments other elements I have in my living room, like the coffee table. And for only $19.99 each, they were the perfect price. They also use plastic instead of glass so they are lightweight and if they fall they won’t hurt or cut anyone. (I live in California and think of these things because of earthquakes.)
Keep in mind, I wanted to keep the design clean and simple so I did not use a mat when framing even though the frames came with mats. If wanting to use a mat, you’ll want to print your PDF file at a smaller size so it fits the mats’ opening.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I think the leaf and floral prints are a perfect way to welcome spring. And if you like the flowers on the coffee table, be sure to see my tutorial for the Rainbow Flower

Hi there-how do I print these at a smaller size? Do I just ask FedEx to do it or do I need to do some formatting myself first? My bathroom wall can’t accommodate 36 inches tall. Thank you!
Sarah
How do I print this in a smaller size? Thank you!
Amy
SarahWhen printing, choose “fit to page” and it will print smaller like on 8.5 x 11″. Or simply change the percentage in the print window if you want to really control the exact size. I hope that helps. Thanks!

Hi Amy – that looks like it works if I were to print the image myself but I’m looking for an 11x 14 of the leaf only print so I’ll have to have FedEx do it. I’d also like to print the mirror image of the leaf print but the “flip” function is grayed out in PDF. Ideas?
