Free You Are My Sunshine Banner Printable
I actually created this You Are My Sunshine Banner Printable a couple years ago to accompany flowers I sent my mom for Mother’s Day. Living states apart, I’m not always great at sending gifts, but that year I had my act together. Simply sending the flowers would have been enough, but the tag made her know that I had spent a little extra time thinking about her. That’s actually one of my favorite things about designing printables. I usually always do it with a loved one in mind. (It’s definitely part of my love language.) And the bonus is getting to share the work with you guys. So hopefully you’ll be able to use this FREE print-it-yourself PDF file to dress up flowers, a gift or your party decor for an event like Mother’s Day or another special occasion. Below I provide instructions for making the double-sided flower stick I used for the Mother’s Day bouquet.
How To Make a Double-Sided Flower Stick
Materials
- FREE You Are My Sunshine Banner Print-It-Yourself PDF File
- White Cardstock
- Lollipop Stick (11 3/4″ or whatever size works for your flower arrangement)
- Tape
- Double-sided Tape or Glue
Instructions
Download the FREE You Are My Sunshine Banner Print-it-yourself File. Print on white cardstock.
Cutout both banners. Leave about a 1/8″ white border.
Attach lollipop stick. Using regular tape, tape the end of the lollipop stick to the back of one of your banners.
Attach 2nd banner. Using double-sided tape (or glue), attach your 2nd banner to the banner with the stick, sandwiching the lollipop stick between the two banners.
Add to flowers! Here I used a combined white hydrangea with yellow and pink ranunculus in a white pitcher.
For added Mother’s Day decor, I love how the flowers looked with my DIY Fabric Garland. And since my mom is such an awesome sewer, it felt like a nice nod to her as well. Have you ever made one of these scrap-fabric garlands? They are super easy and provide an instant “party-time” vibe to any space. I usually just rip strips of fabric I already have in my hoarding closet, so they cost nothing too (wink). There are lots of tutorials on Pinterest, just search Scrap Fabric Garland.
And what party is complete without a cocktail? My mom is not a big drinker, but she does have some signature cocktails like this Tequila Sunrise. Gorgeous and tasty. And I matched them to the Fabric Garland by tying Fabric Flags to the straws. Just rip small strips of fabric and loop around your straw. Be sure to get the cocktail recipe here. It’s a nice alternative to a mimosa for a brunch—or Cinco de Mayo is tomorrow!
