Free Botanical Prints Wall Art Available to Download

Are you looking for an affordable and chic way to welcome spring into your home? How about creating some large-scale wall art with these free botanical prints, available to download at 24″ x 36″? I say, yes, please!

I’ve been needing artwork for over my couch and I wanted to keep it simple. I saw some black and white fern prints that I thought would be perfect from McGee & Co.; however, each framed print was $1,100. What? I decided I wanted to create the look for less, and I did just that. My two framed prints cost a total of $50. That’s a $2,150 savings!

I’ll admit, I couldn’t find simple frames as big as I wanted (I originally wanted 36″ x 48″ frames), but I did find 24″ x 36″ frames from Ikea for only $19.99 each. I then designed and printed the black and white prints for about $5 each at FedEx Office. So for a total of only $50 I had the same look as the fancy fern prints I wanted. And the leaf and floral designs are more me anyways—which makes this DIY a win, win!

If you like these prints too, below I have the free download and instructions for printing. The process is so simple and, since they are so affordable, you won’t feel guilty when you want to change out your artwork.

Instructions

Download the FREE Botanical Prints PDF. The PDF is two pages, including the leaf print and the floral print. The pages are set up to print 24″ x 36″.

Print your PDF file. Take your PDF file to FedEx Office or other local printer. Have them print your PDF at 100% (24″ x 36″) like an Architectural/Engineer Print in black & white at the highest quality print. Be sure to ask for the highest quality because if you don’t your printout may have streaks. Just have them reprint it if this happens. The Architectural/Engineer Print is the cheapest option for printing. FedEx Office also has other poster options but they will cost significantly more. Unless you want the higher quality, make sure the total is only about $5 per print.

Frame your prints. Use your favorite 24″ x 36″ frame. I liked the simple RIBBA black frames from Ikea. The streamlined look really compliments other elements I have in my living room, like the coffee table. And for only $19.99 each, they were the perfect price. They also use plastic instead of glass so they are lightweight and if they fall they won’t hurt or cut anyone. (I live in California and think of these things because of earthquakes.)

Keep in mind, I wanted to keep the design clean and simple so I did not use a mat when framing even though the frames came with mats. If wanting to use a mat, you’ll want to print your PDF file at a smaller size so it fits the mats’ opening.
