FREE Gift Tag: Thanks for Always Being a Light

Who are the lights in your life? Do you take time to recognize them? It was my birthday yesterday and I had dinner with three close friends that definitely make my life brighter. Although I asked them not to bring gifts, I had a feeling they wouldn’t listen to me. Knowing this, I decided to take advantage of my opportunity to give them each something special as well. I remembered I had these matchstick bottles and thought my friends would love them because, frankly, they are oh so cute. The bonus was that the matches could symbolize how I see each of them as a light in my life. To make sure they caught that symbolism, I created a gift tag. The tag read “Thanks for always being a light.” I attached the gift tag with baker’s twine and in seconds had an easy yet meaningful gift.

You can attach the gift tag to matches like I did or attach it to your favorite candle. However you use it, you’ll brighten someone’s day with this little tag. (Note: in order for the punched hole to be smaller than a regular hole punch, I used a X-acto knife.)

I found the match bottles at a local home store (City Life Home Furnishings). They had them on sale for only $7.50 each. In trying to find the same matches online, I’m seeing that I got a really good deal. On Amazon the same matches range from $17 to $20. If you can’t find these same matches, look for cute designer match boxes or candles.

In addition, the download file includes a 4″ x 6″ sign that says “Shine Bright.” Frame the sign and give it as a gift or simply hang the sign on your fridge as a reminder to be a light. Again, however you use it, you’re sure to bring a smile to someone’s face.
