Let’s face it, St Patrick’s Day usually involves some beer drinking, so I simply had to do something to dress up my beer glasses for the holiday. Using my Cricut, I created shamrock stickers from removable green vinyl to make easy DIY Shamrock Glasses. It took about 15 minutes from start to finish, so it’s a great last-minute design idea if you happen to have a Cricut or other cutting machine. And if you don’t, you could create the same look using store-bought shamrock stickers.
Materials
- FREE Shamrock JPEG File or Cricut Design Space Project
- Removable Vinyl in Green
- Cricut or another cutting machine
- Plain glasses (I used beer can glasses from Crate & Barrel as well as wine glasses from West Elm)
Instructions
Download my FREE Shamrock JPEG file or if you have a Cricut go to my Cricut Design Space Project. If using the jpeg file, you’ll then want to use that file to cut out your stickers using a cutting machine. You’ll simply upload the file to your cutting machine’s software like Cricut’s Design Space and use it to create the size stickers you want.
I made stickers in 3 sizes: 1 inch, 3/4 inch and 1/2 inch. The number you make depends on the size of your glass and how many stickers you use. On the beer glasses, I used about four 1″ stickers, eight 3/4″ stickers and six 1/2″ stickers. On the wine
Cut out your stickers from the green removable vinyl. I used removable vinyl so that the shamrocks would not be permanent and I can easily remove them after use. If you want to make something more permanent, use permanent vinyl.
Add your stickers to your glass in a random pattern. It could not be any easier. If you place a sticker in the wrong spot, simply remove and place again. This is a very forgiving craft.
The shamrock stickers prove to be a simple yet festive touch that sure make me smile. And the glasses happen to look right at home with my rainbow flowers! If you like the flowers be sure to see my Rainbow Flower Arrangement How-To. Happy St. Paddy’s Day!
